The 2017 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors’ Cup is the season-ending conference of Asia’s first pay-for-play league. The opening festivities are set to kick-off today (July 19) at the Mecca of Philippine Basketball, the Smart-Araneta Coliseum with four teams squaring off in the opener.
Kia Picanto and the Phoenix Fuel Masters will slug it out in the 4:15 PM matchup while the Alaska Aces will go toe-to-toe against the NLEX Road Warriors in the 7:00 PM contest.
Fans can expect to see their hard court heroes back in action along with their foreign reinforcements. However Asian imports will be missing in action as the current Federation Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA) calendar is in conflict with the Governors Cup schedule.
Nonetheless, the season-ending conference of the 42nd installation of the PBA has a lot of surprises and drama in store for every Basketball-loving Filipino.
